Intercultural Exchange Project (Articulating Social Studies and English)

This blog is about an Intercultural Exchange between Escuela del Parque - Buenos Aires - Argentina and Colegio Nueva Siembra - San Salvador de Jujuy - Jujuy, Argentina. In both schools Seventh Graders (12/13 years old students) wrote to each other about Buenos Aires and Jujuy, respectively. This project encourages communication and cultural exchange about local communities.

Palermo Hollywood, Soho and Old

Galileo Galilei Planetarium, Palermo Lakes and The Rosedal.

“La Rural”:

In Palermo Hollywood you can visit “La Rural”. For 120 years this center has been the most important place to host national and international mega exhibitions in Buenos Aires.
On the other hand, Palermo Hollywood is 45.000 square metres and has 4 conference rooms.

“Botanic Garden”:

In Palermo Hollywood you can visit the “Botanic Garden”. It was inaugurated in 1898. It is considered one of the best places in B.A. Its surface covers 8 blocks and its vegetation features over 5,000 different types of plants, from different provinces in the country. The garden is decorated with a vast variety of fountains and bridges.


Palermo Soho. Julio Cortázar Square:

Palermo Soho.

Julio Cortázar Square is the heart of Palermo Soho.
This part of Palermo neighborhood today is called “Soho” because it is the place chosen by artists and craftsmen; the atmosphere here is bohemian and modern, in a way it tries to be like New York Soho. The square has a small space for kids’ attractions. Every Saturday and Sunday, it becomes the setting for a group of 40 plastic artists who exhibit and sell their craft. You can find clothes designers and handicraft sellers. The “small square”, as it is known within the area, is located at the center of an endless number of shops, fairs, ateliers, galleries, bars and restaurants. Cortázar Square. Jorge Luis Borges street at number 1600 (at the crossroads of Honduras)

Shops: an area bordered by the streets Costa Rica, Godoy Cruz, Malabia and Gorriti.
